Book Review: Bridget Jones's Diary

It's fitting that my first book review of 2015 is about Bridget Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding, in which a woman starts the year with many new years resolutions and goals. Throughout the year Bridget Jones struggles to find a man (while trying to fend off all of the people who tell her that she should be married already), reduce thigh circumference by three inches, stop smoking, and develop inner poise.

This book is a fun, laugh-out-loud story. I believe that anyone who reads it will be able to relate to at least one of Bridget's struggles. But Bridget Jones's Diary is not great just because it is hilarious, it is great because it also takes into account the problems of modern-day society. It brings up topics such a feminism and the different expectations for men and women, making it very thought provoking.

And last but not least, it really made me want to up my journaling game.
